In the second phase of the project, Sitowise will be responsible for preliminary studies, implementation planning, and construction and project management tasks.
– The preliminary studies create the basis for the planning and implementation of the project. By assessing material factors, such as soil conditions, building permit and environmental impacts, we identify potential risks, says Roni Ahola, Sitowise's Contract Manager.
In the design phase, the special characteristics of the project are taken into account in different areas, such as architecture and structural, fire and geotechnical engineering, HVAC, automation, electrical and project design. The design includes the technical design of batteries, solar panels and EV charging stations, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability. Construction and project management tasks cover project implementation, supervision and scheduling, as well as budget and quality management.
– On-site tasks ensure the implementation and quality of the plans in problem situations, focusing on supervision, drawing up specification plans and ensuring safety. This ensures a smooth progress of the construction project and a high-quality end result, Ahola adds.
We chose Sitowise as our partner because they offer wide-ranging expertise for the different phases of the project.
Elie Kopaly, Innovestor
When modifying the built environment, it is important to minimise changes and proceed sustainably in order to ensure the long-term resilience and security of projects. In accordance with the principles of resilience, the aim is to develop solutions that support the adaptability of the environment and structures to changing conditions. Cooperation ensures that changes are made in a controlled and justified manner, utilising operating models in line with sustainable development.
– Our strategy focuses on installing the systems directly at the places of consumption, i.e. in connection with the properties. The aim of the project is to promote energy efficiency, but at the same time we are introducing large-scale equipment, which sets requirements for cost-effectiveness. The project is challenging because each property is unique and the systems must be installed with respect for the existing built environment. In addition, it is important that our model is scalable. We chose Sitowise as our partner because they offer wide-ranging expertise for the different phases of the project, says Elie Kopaly, Investment Director of Energy Storage at Innovestor.
Successful piloting with a bold approach
Similar projects have not been carried out in Finland before, so a bold approach and smooth cooperation have been key factors in the successful piloting phase.
Roni Ahola, Sitowise
In the early stages of the project, Sitowise was involved in the preparation of the REPowerEU grant application, preliminary studies, and implementation planning, in which battery storage facilities for four properties were designed and implemented.
– The EU's REPowerEU investment support for the clean transition is significant for the project, and with the support of the studies carried out by our experts, the project was granted EUR 3.5 million in investment support, says Sitowise’s Marko Tulamo, who is responsible for organising the planning group.
– The piloting phase was made smoother by the project group's good cooperation and can-do attitude. Cooperation with the authorities in this unique project has also been straightforward. Similar projects have not been carried out in Finland before, so a bold approach and smooth cooperation have been key factors in the successful piloting phase, Ahola says.
It is important to boldly take on new, cross-sectoral projects with the help of comprehensive services, as this is what distinguishes Sitowise from its competitors.
Marko Tulamo, Sitowise
The green transition brings new business opportunities to Sitowise
– The value of the project's total services for Sitowise is approximately EUR 1.6 million. Its uniqueness creates new business opportunities for Sitowise in green transition projects and strengthens the company's pioneering position compared to its competitors, Tulamo says.
Green transition projects will continue to open up significant opportunities for Sitowise in the energy and industrial sectors. – It is important to boldly take on new, cross-sectoral projects with the help of comprehensive services, as this is what distinguishes Sitowise from its competitors, Tulamo emphasises.
The goal of Innovestor's energy storage project is to create Finland's first multi-property virtual power plant participating in the reserve market.
The project has utilised CapaloAI's artificial intelligence platform, which optimises the energy consumption, storage and solar power production of properties. The aim is to achieve significant benefits in participating in the electricity market by combining individual property solutions into a single entity. The uniqueness of the project lies in its ability to improve cost-efficiency and increase business opportunities both in Finland and internationally.
