The Tikkurila competence campus project is progressing and the block covering the joint school campus of Tikkurila Upper Secondary School, Varia Vocational College and Vantaa Adult College proceeds to general planning.

Sitowise is responsible for structural engineering and fire design in the extensive school campus block project. The client is VTK Kiinteistöt Oy.

The building will be located in the area of the Tikkurila competence campus, close to the Tikkurila railway station. The building right for the plot is 35,000 m2 and the building according to the project plan uses approximately 30,000 m2 of the building right.

The new school campus building is part of a network of other current and planned teaching buildings in the area.

Special features of the building’s design include goals related to sustainability and carbon neutrality, high-quality architecture and high-quality cityscape.

- Sitowise's skilled designers continue their excellent work in demanding projects. We have been involved in several similar projects in recent years, and it is great to continue this with both new and experienced colleagues, says Jukka Ala-Ojala, responsible designer at Sitowise structural engineering.

The Tikkurila competence campus entity has been actively planned by the City of Vantaa since 2020, and the campus area of more than 100,000 floor square meters will be built in stages. The first blocks are estimated to be built during 2028, and the entire area is estimated to be completed during 2030–2032.
