Winter maintenance data is collected using the Routa system and visualised as a situational picture in Louhi. The end result is an easy-to-read map view where residents can view the latest winter maintenance measures on a street-by-street basis.

- We felt that it would be more beneficial for residents to see the latest measures on each street instead of showing where the equipment itself is. Kempele is a pioneer in providing this kind of situational awareness to municipal residents in our country, says Timo Salminen, who is responsible for the Routa service at Sitowise.

- The thicker line in the snapshot tells the user directly that these are actions taken during the same day. Such a simple visual feature quickly tells the resident at a glance how the day's maintenance work has progressed. At the same time, situational awareness is a modern and effective way to communicate the measures taken to the residents, says Jouni Leskinen, Maintenance Engineer responsible for the maintenance of Kempele municipality's traffic areas.

Sitowise's Louhi and Routa services are used in several municipalities in Finland. With this integration, Sitowise offers municipalities new ways to increase and utilise the transparency of maintenance data, as well as knowledge-based management and cost savings.
